Are "voodoo love spells" more powerful than wicca, santeria, hoodoo or palo love spells?

Voodoo Love Spells vs Wicca Love Spells

Voodoo spells call upon the help of God, the ancestors and/or the lwa to empower the spell and make it "work" (get results). Wiccan love spells call upon the Lord / Lady, spirits of the plants/nature itself, and deities (goddess of love from other cultures or European/Greek cultures) to "aid" them in the work - as well as "stir up" energy (through dance, chant, will power, etc) to act as "fuel" for the spell to get the desired results.

Each approaches the goal requesting aid from different sources, yet one is not more "powerful" than the other. The only major difference is that those that practice Wicca may abide by the Wiccan Rede (a moral ethics by which they live by) "do what ye will... and harm none".

What this means is that if a Wicca practitioner adapts the Rede, they will not purposefully cast spells to harm or interfere with someone's freedom of choice.

It is often argued by many Neopagan Wiccans (and some other witches) that a love spell to make someone fall in love with you, by its very nature - interferes with that persons' free will. Therefore, they frown against casting love spells.

Yet, early history of witchcraft and even Wicca itself shows spells to cause someone to fall in love with you! So, it is not a "general" rule that each Wiccan must live by. It is a personal choice to adopt the Wiccan Rede.

As with all things magical or not, it is up to each individual to decide where to draw the line.

In contrast, Vodou (the religion, not the misspelled often used "voodoo") - there is no such law. Each vodouisant, Mambo, Hougan, bokor - decides for themselves if they want to cast love spells or not. In actuality, it is quite common to cast love spells, and therefore it works because of the sheer volume of love spells available - and the practice that comes from centuries of "voodoo love spell casting"! (As the old saying goes, "practice makes perfect").

But to the question at hand, is a voodoo love spell more powerful than a Wiccan love spell. The answer is no.

Voodoo Love Spells vs. Santeria Love Spells

Santeria is an African-Yoruba religion brought first to Cuba (then to the West and rest of the world) by the African slaves forced to work in the fields of the country Cuba.

The slaves disguised their deities with the images of the Catholic Saints, and the Spaniard slave owners would think they were praying to Christian saints, but they certainly weren't! That is why Santeria is a Spanish word for "worship of saints" - but in reality it was all a ruse to be able to practice their religion, without any further persecution from the slave owners.

Most Santeria love spells call upon the goddess of rivers, sweet waters, beauty, femininity and love - Oshun. But in reality, you can ask any Orisha (Santeria deities) for assistance in love matters.

Many people are completely mistaken and think they can petition the Orishas for malevolent magic spells. The Santeria gods and goddesses will defend a person against harm, but NOT harm someone because you ask them to. Yet, love spells to cause a marriage to be blessed, to help someone attract the love and admiration of a specific individual, or even to cause a husband/wife to remain faithful - are not uncommon.

Interestingly enough, the Vodou pantheon of lwas also share some of the same names/domains as some of the Santeria Orishas. Perhaps this is due to the slave trade bringing African slaves to Haiti - and some mixing of the African religions.

For example, La Sirene in Vodou, is the lwa of the ocean, mother of fishes and the sea world - so is Yemaya in Afro-Yoruba Santeria. There are many others that are beyond the scope of this article.

Many people think that Matressili Erzulie Freda (the lwa of beauty, wealth and love) is the only one in voodoo to petition for love, yet again, just like in Santeria - you can petition any lwa to assist you in matters of love, they'll just do it in their own "style" (same goes for Santeria).

So while booth religions have similarities, their bases and approach "differ".

Verdict is a voodoo love spell more powerful than a Santeria love spell? The answer is no. Similar but different methodologies and assistance in both systems.

Voodoo Love Spells vs. Hoodoo Love Spells (which one would be stronger)?

Before the movie "The Skeleton Key" played by actress Kate Hudson (and a stellar job by actress Gena Rowlands who was so believable!), many people in the West thought that "hoodoo" and "voodoo" where the same thing. Of course, people down South would just "snicker" to themselves and often left them in their own ignorance.

Vodou (again, commonly misspelled and referred to even derogatorily as "voodoo") is a religion brought to Haiti by Africans forcibly during the slave trade era; while "hoodoo" is African-American "folk magic".

Folk magic generally is not bound by any religious rites, or religion. Magic is the act of trying to create desired change by using metaphysical principles. It is the occult practiced to do in the spirit and real world what you desire to achieve, have, experience, etc.

Today, many people are mixing "hoodoo" with paganism, etc., but Hoodoo at heart is simply "magic".

You can obtain AMAZING results with a properly constructed hoodoo love spell, but so can you through Vodou.

Is Voodoo (again, I use this spelling because it is the most common one) love spell better than (more powerful than) a hoodoo love spell? No, a thousand times no!

One is a religion, the other is pure magic, both work equally as strong as the other!

Ok, I think by now you get the point. Some phony psychics online claim that Voodoo (vudu, vodoun, vodou) spells for love are more powerful than any other magical system - but this simply is not true.

What is true that each magic system and or religion is strong if the believer has faith, knows the correct ingredients to use and has a well-though out, realistic goal.
